Peyton Strickland Murder Case

An update on the Peyton Strickland murder case from Wilmington, NC. Since I alst posted on this matter several important things have happened. First, the Deputy who killed Peyton Strickland was fired from the Sheriff’s department last Friday. The following Monday, the Grand Jury in New Hanover County indicted him on second degree murder charges. The evidence showed that the deputy was standing at the door to Strickland’s house when other deputies used a battering ram to smash open the door.

The deputy supposedly thought the sound of the battering ram was the sound of “return fire” from the house, and he opened fire through the closed front door, killing Peyton.
